T1
Assistant Graphic Designer, 2021
T1 is a Korean team owned by SK telecom CS T1 Co., Ltd., the joint venture between SK Telecom and Comcast Spectacor. I began my journey at T1 in 2020, stepping into the role of Summer Design Intern. Being the inaugural design intern at T1, I recognized the significance of maintaining the established branding while also injecting fresh styles and imprinting my unique touch on the company. With the unwavering guidance of my mentor, Ryan Fetterolf, I was able to navigate this delicate balance and drive innovation within the organization.
T1 is a highly esteemed South Korean esports team, deeply ingrained in the world of competitive gaming. I aimed to pay homage to its rich history while exploring fresh concepts and strategies.
Building upon its defined and modern branding, I ventured beyond conventional limits to introduce innovative approaches that capture the spirit of T1's evolution. Across diverse projects ranging from designing unique Valorant skins to contributing to Tyler1's T1 reveal, I leveraged my expertise to add value and creativity to the organization.
Constantly Experimenting
With Valorant's popularity soaring, I aimed for T1 to lead in esports design. I dedicated extensive time to prepare for T1's roster reveal by making custom skins, social media visuals, and unique branding for Valorant across T1’s multiple platforms. As a result, T1 was among one of the first to use custom 3D Valorant skins in their graphics. The works in this project will reflect this extensively.
Wallpapers
In order to show appreciation for T1's community and to explore more creative ventures with the organization's branding, a captivating wallpaper series was initiated. The series focuses on T1's exciting venture into Valorant, aiming to build excitement and anticipation among fans.
Social Media
Tasked with the responsibility of revamping the social media headers for the brand and its associated individuals, I dedicated significant time and effort to ensure a fresh approach that combines novelty with elegance while staying loyal to T1's renowned minimalistic aesthetic.
Youtube Thumbnails
Created to be used across multiple channels, these thumbnails were used to ensure T1's thumbnails had variety but remained in line with pre-established brand guidelines. I also had the chance to work with Riot Games to produce a thumbnail for Valorant’s main channel.
